Animal Alphabet was influenced by some research I was doing about education. I was reading about project based education and was thinking about how my children learn. I wanted to try out some of these ideas so started this animal alphabet project as a way to introduce subjects to talk about and study with my own kids. The main idea being that starting with an image of a manatee you can talk about where they live (geography and specifically underwater ecosystems), what they eat (and the physiology), temperature and climate, size & weight, habitat. Through some subject or object of interest you can talk about and through many different subjects.
